family pictures...

Hello on this fine holiday weekend!  Hope you are having a nice time wherever you may be :)  We got our family pictures back from 'A Fist Full of Bolts Photography' already and we are pleased as punch!  We just took the pics 1 week ago, so that's pretty awesome to get them back already.  Sean and Melanie were amazing to work with and were SO good with the kiddos. We met them at Cannon Beach, and although they normally do weddings, they did great with the whole family.  I will admit whole-heartedly that my kiddos are WAY harder to photograph than any bride or groom :)  We highly recommend them and we had a great time with them last Sunday.

Hi all!  I have gotten quite a few emails the last week or so about our new buffalo logo designed by IndieGrace from Etsy.  She was wonderful to work with!!!  I told her what I envisioned and she whipped it right up and made all the tweaks I needed to make it just right :)  I HIGHLY recommend her for any blog or logo project you may have!  :)

We had family pictures last weekend at Cannon Beach and we made a great day trip out of it.  Icecream, pizza, fudge, beach, giggles, dinner on the road home, and two asleep kiddos when we pulled into the driveway.  

It also helped create one of Jeremiah's and I favorite memories...Paetyn is going into 2nd grade this year and Maddux will be in Kindergarten.  Maddux is going to have the same teacher Paetyn did when she was in Kinder and Paetyn was giving him all sorts of advice about what to do and where to sit.  I don't think they knew we were listening, but it was getting really dark outside so all we could hear was their little voices from the backseat.  Maddux proclaimed at one point "I know how to spell DOG.  D-O-G!" and Paetyn was so excited and yelled "great job Maddux!" and then gave him a high-five (all we could hear was the clap of hands). Jeremiah reached over and squeezed my hand. It was awesome.

I have to say that I am pretty nervous that both my kiddos will be at school, but thrilled that they can start this new chapter together.

Let's talk 'collections' people.  I like to collect things...typewriters, vintage dominos, brass apples, just to name a few.  There is something so charming and whimsical about having a grouping of 'something' whatever that may be.  Human toenail collection?  Whatever floats your boat, I guess. :)  Here are a few curated collections that I fell for:

Wahclella Falls...

Hello all!  The kiddos and I headed to Wahclella Falls on Sunday morning for a little adventure and a picnic.  Wahclella Falls is by the fish hatchery and Multnomah Falls about 30 minutes outside of Portland.  It was nice and warm, and although the hike isn't exactly kiddo-friendly, we made the 1 mile hike in and enjoyed the waterfalls and trails.  This is one of those places that you simply cannot believe how close to the falls you actually can get (we could feel the water drips on us).

Karen O. who beautifully shot our wedding renewals last year submitted the photos to 'Style Me Pretty' and it was featured!  Quite a fun surprise to us and it was fun looking at the pictures again. Karen did a fantastic job and the day wouldn't have been the same without her!  Check out the post here.
