welcome sunshine!...

We were so lucky in Portland this weekend...it was beautiful!  A real treat for us (and the kiddos) because we spent time outside cleaning up the yard and garage, and letting the littles play in the culdesac with scooters and bikes.  But, alas, as soon as we come in from outside some kind of evil force takes over those children and they go nuts.  So, in desperation I poured out all the crayons and markers on the floor and rolled out our giant roll of craft paper and let the kiddos go nuts.  That worked pretty good but I just keep trying to remind myself that there are only a few more months of cold weather and then outside will be our living room!

So here are a few ideas to get us through the next few months...

little P...

This weekend I was looking at Paetyn and I sort of drifted off thinking of her and what a "person" she has become.  I know that sounds weird but as a parent you are consumed about their safety, school, friends, and behavior and sometimes forget that they are actually little people.  Little people who have their own little ticks, passions, strengths, and everything in between.

I was then interrupted by that same little girl saying "...mom?  Mom?  MOM!  You have a really weird look on your face.  Did you eat some bad applesauce or something?"

So much for day-time dreaming :)

geanne genevieve...

Hello friends!  So sorry about the radio silence lately...we have been busy over here!  I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce 'Geanne Genevieve' to you all.  Its a new adventure with my friend, Hannah, who is very near and dear to me.  Let me start from the beginning....

Hannah and I have been friends for years and we have very similar tastes when it comes to styling and decor.  She started a lovely business, 'Geanne Genevieve' (named after her grandmother) but needed some additional help with the website, photos, and all the other stuff I love doing! The idea was to create a vintage item rental company for weddings or any event that may need some help with fun and vintage items.

I started collecting things for the renewals and promised her I would give her anything I found and didn't need after the party, and when I started to find treasures all over the place that would be good for her venture, I would pick them up for her.  We then realized we were totally in sync with items and the direction she wanted to go.  She asked if I would want to be her partner and help her with finding treasures and creating a website.  At first I said no, because I didn't know how much time I could commit but she was persistent and I agreed to take the photos for her and create the website.  It was so much fun that she asked me to be a full partner and now things are taking off!

She likes the 'event day' stuff and I much more enjoy the 'behind the scenes' work so it has worked out beautifully.  The pictures were so much fun to take and making the website was an absolute blast.  The website can be found here.  I hope you check it out!

Here are a few of my favorite items that we've found:

Hope you all have a great rest of your week!

baby its cold outside....somewhere else...

I grew up in New Jersey (till I was 8 years old) and then lived in Nebraska until I graduated from college so I have a lot of friends and family battling the snow and winds these days with all the wicked storms.  Stay warm my buddies and pals and keep your family close tonight!  Mwah!

week in pictures...

The kiddos and I spent the day in the Pearle district yesterday (Saturday) causing trouble and having fun...including stops at Anthropologie, West Elm, Buffalo Exchange, voodoo donuts, Oblation Papers (to say hi to 'Watercolor' the in-store parakeet), Pizza Schmizza for lunch, and then naps :)  We have had a fun and busy last week before going back to school.
